Women’s RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Self Defense Course 


The cornerstone of R.A.D. Systems, this self defense course has its foundations in education and awareness. The course includes lecture, discussion and self-defense techniques suitable for women of all ages and abilities. Classes range from a minimum of nine to twelve hours plus in length, depending on the instructor. This class will give you the skills and confidence you need to defend yourself if ever attacked. Sorry boys, this self defense course is for the ladies only!

Although she currently resides in Western MA, Megan Karr is a native of Washington D.C. and a graduate of the U.S. Army Basic Training and Military Police Academy, the Coast Guard Reserve Enlisted Basic Indoctrination Training, the Massachusetts Reserve Intermittent Police Academy, and the Massachusetts Special State Police Academy. Megan served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves and is a veteran of the U.S. Army having been Deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom 2004-2005.

Her law enforcement career was formed by way of the U.S. Army, Military Police Officer 2003-2006; U.S. Coast Guard, Port Security Specialist 2006-2010; and U.S. Coast Guard, Maritime Enforcement Specialist 2010-2012. Megan has been a Police Officer with a Campus Police department serving Mount Holyoke, Hampshire and Smith Colleges since 2007. She is a certified Basic, Advanced, and Keychain/Kuboton RAD instructor, a trainer/instructor for the S.A.F.E. Program, and is a sworn Sheriff in Hampshire County.​​
